Walk Cycle Background

Do: Create a background for your
walk cycle and apply it to your "Animated Character Portfolio"

1. A walk cycle background drawing generally consists of an on going image that allows the lines at the start of the page and at the end of to page to line up. The image is pasted one after the other, giving an unending appearance as the character walks in place.

2. Begin with a sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" white copy paper. Divide it into thirds, length wise. Design a background that stays within the middle
third of the page.
3. When the background is imported onto stage it will appear to go beyond the stage.
4. As you design your background, keep in mind that nothing can be in the foreground. Your character will need this space clear for walking.
5. Below are different atmospheric backdrops for your inspiration, your designs will be different.
6. Remember, as you design your backdrops keep in mind that what ever is happening on the left must begin on the right. This will create an unending back drop for your animation.
7. As you create your backgrounds keep in mind that the back ground will be placed behind your character.
8. PENCIL ONLY DRAWINGS PLEASE!

Below are a several different backdrops
